Heidi's *** 3/5 stars

On this fine 60-degree 11th of March, we decided to bike our butts to brunch at Heidi's. If you didn't know Heidi's before, it was at 50th and Bryant, but a fire took it down. Now it's in uptown where the old Vera's used to be...

I bet this patio is awesome in the summer...

Chefs are on view for all to see. This ensures that your dish is spit free! In most places, I'd rather not know what goes on back there...

Whoa! Crazy pink art mural by Erik Inkala. Love!

Whoa! Crazy cool tree thing! This is by far the most beautiful brunch room I've ever seen!

It gets better. They bring you fresh banana muffins to start. They were soooooo good. Al was super psyched that they didn't "ruin" them by adding nuts!

A true "brunch" menu has several items that are more "lunch" inspired. I can't disagree with this selection, but I am an egg freak and I wanted to see more egg options... Where's the benny!?

The "Trish" was sparkling wine and some kind of cherry liquor. Not amazing.

If you like a really smokey, watery bloody, this is your man.

Here's the egg sammie. For the record, I didn't call it that, they did. That brioche wasn't amazing either. Looks very manufactured and the texture was dry. I love arugula, cured ham and eggs, but somehow this dish didn't wow me as much as I thought it was. The flavor was a bit bland.

Dp's pappardelle and lobster and scrambled eggs, yes, you heard me. This dish was so yummy, but also cost $18. An $18 brunch dish? Really?

Al's ham and cheese omelet had great flavor, but was a bit oily in texture.

The coffee was great and the cups didn't even near half full before they were whisking around to top them off. It took over a half hour for the food to arrive, so good thing they were attentive! Our server took this blurry photo...

Try Heidi's. It's beautiful and worth it for the banana muffins alone. But expect high prices and book out a couple hours. I don't know if I'll be back for brunch, but definitely for dinner!
